Deputy PM says 57% of Russians have smartphones with Internet

SOCHI, Feb 14 (PRIME) -- More than 57% of Russians have mobile devices with Internet access generating over 40% of local traffic, Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov said on Thursday at the Russian Investment Forum.

“Our mobility has changed dramatically,” Akimov said, adding that digitalization takes place when “data change people’s behavior, their preferences, their choice, their self-awareness, their degree of comfort.”

“Digitalization is when I receive a new benefit: educational content, an option to book a hotel in a second. With a deeper process in view, it happens when I don’t only get educational content, but customized educational content,” the official said.
